ANTHOLOGY POETS: Shadows from Unfinished Things - This reading by 4 poets in the new anthology, Shadows from Unfinished Things: Poems and Photographs, features Dom Failla, James Finnegan, James Govoni, and Marilyn JohnstonIn 2019, seven local poets were invited to submit poems to an anthology being planned by QTR Books. Dom Failla served as editor. The book was designed by Marilyn Rabetz with the poems beautifully enhanced by the photography of her late husband, poet Walter Rabetz. Dominic Failla taught philosophy, religion, and psychology at a private school in CT and has written a collection of poetry entitled A Fist Full of Stars. James Finnegan founded the WordForge Reading Series in 2009, and in 2016 it was relaunched as The Charter Oak Readings at the Charter Oak Cultural Center in Hartford. James served as West Hartford Poet Laureate from 2011-2013. Jim Govoni’s poetry strives to lend a voice addressing the complexities arising from the spirit of our unconscious and the spirit of our times. Jim’s work appears in the anthologies, Creativity and Constraint (Wising Up Press, 2014) and BEAT-itude (Local Gems Press, 2019). Marilyn Johnston is the author of two full poetry collections from Antrim House Books, and her chapbook, Against Disappearance, won publication as Finalist for the 2001 Poetry Prize of Redgreene Press.  She co-founded the Wintonbury Poetry Series in 1996 and coordinated it for 20 years. It's nice to welcome her back as one of the features.
