Featured poets are Lori Desrosiers and Benjamin Grossberg.
Poet Christina Lovin says of Lori Desrosiers’ third
full-length book of poems, Keeping Planes in the Air (Salmon
Poetry), is for any of us who have witnessed the ambiguity of holding onto our
lives and loves in the constant presence of an impending loss that leaves us
(and the poet) with a wounded wonderment ‘which is/ more than [we] can fathom/
or just enough.’” When not writing, Desrosiers edits Naugatuck River
Review, a journal of narrative poetry, and Wordpeace, an online
journal dedicated to social justice. She also teaches Poetry in the Lesley
University M.F.A. graduate program. Lori lives and writes in Westfield,
Massachusetts.
Benjamin S. Grossberg's books include Space Traveler
(University of Tampa Press, 2014) and Sweet Core Orchard (University of
Tampa Press, 2009), winner of the Tampa Review Prize and a Lambda Literary
Award. His poems have appeared widely, including in the Pushcart Prize and Best
American Poetry anthologies, Poetry Daily and Verse Daily, and in
the magazines Paris Review, Southwest Review, New England Review,
Kenyon Review, Boulevard, and The Sun. A recipient of individual
artist grants from the states of Ohio and Connecticut, he directs the creative
writing program at the University of Hartford. Ben is also a distance
runner and a vegetarian. His new poetry collection, My Husband Would, will
