Retirement Burnout Steps You Can Take To Prepare For A Healthy Happy Retirement (Virtual)

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Event Details

The term “burnout” originated in the 1970s by an American psychologist, Herbert Freudenberger. Dr. Freudenberger used the word to  describe the consequences of severe stress and high standards in “helping” professions.
These days, "burnout" isn't just used for helping professions, or for the dark side of self-sacrifice. It can affect anyone, from stressed-out career-driven individuals and celebrities to overworked employees and homemakers.
Join us to learn how to identify burnout and steps you can take to stop the vicious cycle.

Retirement can be a shock to your system. It brings a huge change to your lifestyle and will, at first, feel unfamiliar.  Suddenly, you’ve got all new challenges to worry about, like living off a smaller income, having less human contact, and wondering how to spend all of that extra time.  Feelings like loneliness, boredom and worthlessness may work their way into a new retiree’s thoughts. These thoughts are totally normal, but there are ways to prepare for this transition to help minimize these negative reactions. Join us as we discuss steps you can take to prepare for a healthy happy retirement.
