Medicare 101 (Virtual)

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Event Details

The Bloomfield Public Library and The Bloomfield Senior Services are collaborating on Medicare 101.
Kathleen Holt from The Center for Medicare Advocacy will present on Medicare 101.  What is Medicare? What does it cover? and What is the difference between Medicare and Medicare Advantage?

Despite myths you may have heard, Medicare does cover aides to help beneficiaries with personal care in their homes. For individuals who need assistance leaving home, and leaving home takes a taxing effort, Medicare will cover aides if the individual also needs the skilled services of a nurse or therapist.

The Center for Medicare Advocacy is available to assist people having difficulties obtaining Medicare coverage for home health care – or other necessary care. We help Connecticut residents at no charge, in large part due to funding provided to us by the State Department on Aging and Disability Services.
