Event Details

Want to learn more about social justice, but don’t know where to start? Join us at BPL’s Social Justice Book Club, now in its third year! Meeting monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month, this group will seek to create a brave space for learning and sharing a variety of perspectives. Our February book will be You Are Your Best Thing: Vulnerability, Shame Resilience, and the Black Experience, an anthology of essays by Black writers edited by Tarana Burke and Brené Brown.

This anthology of essays offers a space to recognize and process the trauma of white supremacy, a space to be vulnerable and affirm the fullness of Black life and Black possibility, a space that gives Black humanity breathing room.

Please call Prosser or McMahon Wintonbury to reserve your copy of the book, or read/listen to it on the Libby app. You must provide your email address at registration to receive the Zoom link. Your Registration Confirmation Notice includes the Zoom link for the program.
