Event Details

NOAA defines a watershed as “a land area that channels rainfall and snowmelt to creeks, streams, and rivers, and eventually to outflow points such as reservoirs, bays, and the ocean.” The Town of Bloomfield primarily drains into the North Branch Park River watershed. Town planning and use decisions impact water quality as well as the flow rates of Filley Brook, Tumble Brook, Wash Brook, and Beaman’s Brook, which converge to form the North Branch Park River. Conservation and revitalization of landscapes surrounding waterways are critical to the health and environmental justice within downstream communities.

In partnership with Town Environmental Planner, Stephanie Bahramian, and Park Watershed's Founding Director, Mary Rickel Pelletier, we invite you to learn about your local watershed as we review land planning strategies, impacts, and opportunities for Bloomfield to support natural solutions to the climate and biodiversity crises, as well as resilient downstream communities. There will also be time for Q&A. You must provide your email address at registration to receive the Zoom link. Your Registration Confirmation Notice includes the Zoom link for the program.
