There has been increasing attention to Korean popular cultural projects such as K-pop (Korean popular music, e.g., BTS), K-drama (e.g., Netflix's TV series Squid Game), K-movie (e.g., Parasite), and K-beauty and so on. In the lecture, we will introduce Korean popular culture, what it means conceptually, historically, and practically, and what kind of influence it will have.  

This program is part of the NEA Big Read Interior Chinatown, in partnership with Eastern CT State University. Presented by Dr. Yeojin "Julie" Kim, Associate Professor of Department of Communication, East Asian Studies Coordinator, Central Connecticut State University.
