Focus on Fiction: November is National Novel Writing Month. Whether you write novels, novellas, short stories, or plays the basic foundations are the same. The three sessions of this interactive workshop will cover some of those basics including character, plot development, and the importance of the first few lines. Each session will provide opportunities to write, share and receive feedback on your work.

 

November 1 - Session 1

Before You Begin: Your inspiration, genre and audience

 

November 15 - Session 2

Your Process: Character development; are you a pantser or a planner?  

 

November 29 - Session 3

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions: Plot development, point of view and dialogue

 

The workshop will be facilitated by Beth Gibbs, M. A. Beth is an award-winning author who writes for several health and wellness blogs. She has published a personal growth book, Enlighten Up! Finding Clarity, Contentment and Resilience in a Complicated World, a children’s book, Ogi Bogi, The Elephant Yogi, and is currently working on two novels.
