Katharine Carle is a native of Connecticut, living for most of her life on its southern shores. She now resides in Bloomfield. She is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.  

Her careers include work in the medical world and 35 years owning and operating travel agencies with her husband. Her writing reflects her world travel experience and ranges from specific to philosophical.  

In her poems she speaks of the similarities and interactions between humankind and the natural world.  Her poetry is spare, rather Dickinsonian (somewhat in the style of Emily Dickinson).  

Her work has appeared in The Frost Place Anthology 2001 where she was an invited participant at the Robert Frost Festival of Poetry, The Helix, Common Ground Review  and other poetry magazines.

She has given readings at Borders, The Frost Place, Central Connecticut State University, Common Ground Writers Group, and churches, schools, etc. She also leads the Seabury poetry Group.

             

She has published 3 books:

The Order of Things:  2017


D. WALSH GILBERT is the author of five poetry collections: Ransom,
imagine the small bones (both, Grayson Books), Once the Earth had Two Moons (Cerasus Poetry),
[M]AR[Y] (Kelsay Books), and Deirdre (Impspired).
A multiple Pushcart Prize nominee, her work has
recently appeared in The Inflectionist Review, The
Field Guide Poetry Magazine, The Lumiere Review,
Black Fox Literary Magazine, and New Feathers
Anthology, among others. She serves on the board of 
the non-profit, Riverwood Poetry Series, and as co-
editor of Connecticut River Review.
She is a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States
of America and lives in Connecticut with her husband
but visits her homelands in County Monaghan as
often as she can.

Wintonbury Poetry Series is Hosted by Sitara Gnanaguru. Open Mic follows the featured poets. You must provide your email address at registration to receive the Zoom link. Your Registration Confirmation Notice includes the Zoom link for the program. If special accommodations are required, please contact the library at least one week prior to the event.
