Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops (Virtual)

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Event Details

As news continues to circulate about the worsening impacts of global climate change, a relatively new phenomenon is coming to the fore: Feedback Loops. Through this series of five short films, learn some of what climate scientists are tracking around the planet, with a focus on four important feedback loops: melting ice, thawing permafrost, disappearing forests and warming atmosphere.

View the films here (approximately 1 hour): https://feedbackloopsclimate.com/

After watching on your own (suitable for mature young people), please join Bloomfield's Conservation, Energy and Environment Committee, Windsor Climate Action, and 350CT for a discussion of these trends, with a focus on how we in New England are being impacted. We will provide an update on steps that the Connecticut legislature is considering and provide you with ways that you can get involved to protect our future!

Upon registering your email for this program, you will receive the Zoom link to join. All participants will start with video off and sound muted. No computer/internet at home? Call the Library for the phone number, meeting ID & password and join us over the phone.
