In 2021\, her poem “From the Room of an Unknown Girl” was awarded the Leslie McGrath Prize. Blinded Birds\, a chapbook\, will be published in spring of 2022. \;Rhonda Ward served as the inaugural Poet Laureate for the City of New London from 2017 to 2021. Her poems have appeared in print and online\, most recently in Connecticut Woodlands\, Cape Cod Quarterly\, the nature anthology \;Waking Up to the Earth \;(edited by Connecticut Poet Laureate\, Margaret Gibson)\, and online at the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-A-Day Project. She co-hosts the annual Langston Hughes Community Poetry Reading now in its fourteenth year.Open Mic \;follows the featured poets.
